The European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) contains new data protection requirements that apply from 25 May 2018.

The GDPR and the Australian Privacy Act 1988 have many shared common requirements however there are some notable differences, a key one being certain rights of individuals including “the right to be forgotten” which do not have an equivalent right under the Privacy Act.

 Come and hear about:

  • Examples of marketing or business conduct that Australian businesses ordinarily conduct which may fall within the scope of liability under these new provisions.
  • How you can obtain more information to understand your presence in the EU Market and where you can obtain more information about safeguarding your business against a breach.

Join James Stephens, Principal Solicitor at the Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office, Gayle While from Clemengers BBDO and Rohish Gupta, Policy Manager at VTIC as the guide you through the new privacy changes, and how it can impact your business.
