Stay relevant and up to date
Tourism Excellence is a program of workshops delivered by Destination Melbourne and supported by Visit Victoria. Every year, we deliver four workshops on topics that are current and relevant to the industry.
Tourism employs over 200,000 people in Victoria and brings $26 billion in value to the visitor economy. It’s a dynamic industry, and also an extremely competitive marketplace. Thus, it’s important to upskill and stay up-to-date with consumer trends.
Our Tourism Excellence program has been designed to help businesses and destinations stay informed, relevant and to grow. The topics for these workshops are based on industry consultation and research of the latest national and international developments within the industry. We engage the best experts to facilitate the program, and each session is interactive, engaging and inspiring.
For optimum outcome, the workshops are limited to 20-40 people. They are also a great opportunity to meet and learn from others in the industry.

Tourism businesses face a unique set of cultural considerations in finding connection between tourism and the Aboriginal culture and community.
This workshop will provide you with some knowledge around Aboriginal culture in Victoria from a business perspective, enabling you to respectfully approach Aboriginal communities and organisations and craft an authentic Indigenous component to your event or experience.
