Destination Melbourne congratulates the 2018 MTLP graduates

Destination Melbourne congratulates the Melbourne Tourism Leadership Program graduates of 2018. This is a very special group of graduates, who have successfully graduated in the 10th year of the program, a key milestone for everyone involved with the program.

Twenty three participants from across Victoria’s  tourism industry completed the award-winning leadership program with a gala graduation ceremony that celebrated their year of hard work, learning and growth.

The 2018 participants celebrate their graduation, with facilitator Mel Neil and Industry Development Co-ordinator Michelle Dall'Ava

Over 80 industry professionals and past participants of the program attended the ceremony. Wendi Pearce, the Head of Marketing for Melbourne Airport, MTLP’s Principal Partner, opened the ceremony by sharing three leadership attributes that are important to her: authenticity, trust and honesty.

Our guests also had a chance to hear from the MTLP facilitator, Mel Neil, who revealed that the Program is the best work that she does. Mel has co-designed and facilitates the program, which now has 230 graduates across 120 unique businesses.

As MTLP celebrates 10 years, we would like to thank Mel for her commitment to the program over these years. Her infectious passion for people, inspiring everyone to discover their strengths, values, capacity and capabilities without self- imposed limitations, is what makes this program so special.

The Melbourne Tourism Leadership Program (MTLP) is a ground-breaking professional development program, giving people with a demonstrated interest in tourism an opportunity to grow as leaders within the industry.

The vision for MTLP is to continue to develop leaders from across the visitor industry who have the passion and drive to provide ongoing leadership for Melbourne and Victoria. The primary focus will be on giving people the tools they need to be more effective leaders.

Find out more about the program and why you should apply, or perhaps nominate one of your staff for the 2019 program.
