Melbourne Visitor Centre at Federation Square closing

The Melbourne Visitor Centre [MVC] at Federation Square will cease operations at close of business on Sunday 19 August to allow City of Melbourne to vacate the premises for construction of the new Town Hall Station as part of the Metro Tunnel Project.

City of Melbourne has announced that a new visitor information hub, the ‘Melbourne Visitor Hub at Town Hall’, will open to the public on Monday 20 August to ensure a seamless transition with the Melbourne Visitor Centre closing the evening before.

Soon after, the ‘Queen Victoria Market Visitor Hub’ will open, joining the network of visitor services that also includes Melbourne Visitor Booth at Bourke Street Mall and Fitzroy Gardens Visitor Centre.

An official opening date for the Queen Victoria Market Visitor Hub will be announced soon.

To maintain City of Melbourne’s high customer service standards and to support visitors in accessing information services, there will be way finding signage at Federation Square from Monday 30 July, website updates and brochures available, as well as additional City Ambassadors on the front line.
