Tourism Awards Mentoring Program

Get help with your awards submission

If you are a Melbourne business interested in a first time entry to the 2019 RACV Tourism Awards, we can help you to plan and write your submission.

One of the many initiatives we undertake from an industry development perspective is to support businesses entering the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards

Destination Melbourne supports and encourages businesses as new entrants to the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards. Writing an awards submission can be daunting, so we allocate the services of an experienced Program Support Officer – Natalie Pickett to guide you through the submission process*. Natalie has more than 20 years’ business experience in tourism and related industries, including time as a Victorian Tourism Awards judge.

In 2018, Natalie mentored four businesses through this program - Punting on the Lake (won bronze for category Tours & Transport Operators), Melbourne Private Tours (finalist for category Tours & Transport Operators), City of Port Phillip and Old Melbourne Gaol.

Having a project such as the Tourism Awards submission provided a means for the team to work together to strengthen the goals of the organisation as well as provide an opportunity to review what successes had been achieved. Whilst winning an award is the ultimate accolade for service and product excellence, the process of writing a submission is beneficial in itself - you define your business plan, assess your marketing strategies and take time out to look holistically at your business to find the potential growth opportunities. Not to mention the fun and frivolity that takes place at the RACV Tourism Awards gala in November!

If you are a Melbourne business interested in a first time entry to the 2019 RACV Tourism Awards, we can help you to plan and write your submission.
